More people can become makers

AI-assisted engineering and accessible manufacturing tools can put more ideas within reach. We want more people to benefit from that ability to create.

A working prototype is a beginning. Making it dependable, understandable and useful takes another kind of work. That is the space incutec is building for: an incubator of technology, with your technology at its centre.

The design stays open

An open design gives the next maker a better starting point. Editable sources, design intent, clear licensing and build instructions make it possible to understand, repair and improve what already exists.

Each project keeps its own identity. Shared tools handle recurring work: checking a circuit, preparing manufacturing files, assembling documents and explaining how things fit together.

Trust has an evidence trail

A test result belongs to particular hardware, a procedure and a capture. A manufacturing pack belongs to a design revision. A quotation answers a specification.

Our tooling keeps these connections visible. It records source versions, prepares outputs and exposes missing evidence. People review engineering decisions and verify physical work. Automation helps the evidence travel; it does not replace it.

Products fund the next step

Our business is selling useful physical products. Product sales support the engineering, manufacturing, documentation and support that surround them.

Supplier relationships, purchasing, inventory, testing and release tools form a shared foundation. A new project should be able to build on that work without rebuilding a company around itself.

OpenDrone is the first chapter

OpenDrone is our first project and our learning ground. Flight controllers, motor control and radio links bring real engineering problems, within a community that learns by building.

The workspace now contains design checks, manufacturing exporters, a testing application, supplier records, material-tracking tools, evidence workflows and a reusable video framework. These are pieces of the broader system, developed through hands-on work. Our ambition reaches beyond drones.

Learning returns to the source

Engineering becomes useful knowledge when someone can see how a thing works. A demonstration can help someone assemble their first board, repair a product or begin something new.

Questions and findings return to the team that can use them: design changes to engineering, build improvements to production, and availability questions to sourcing. Better products, clearer knowledge and more capable makers can grow together.

The roadmap

Where the line has been.
Where it goes next.

  1. OriginJustFPV

Years of FPV builds, repairs and teardowns, filmed and published. The audience came before the company.

  2. First shipStinger

An open-source blaster. Around fifty-five units packed by hand in a student dorm. The engineering was the easy half.

  3. Mar 2026Two founders

One builds the hardware, one builds the company around it.

  4. Apr 2026The bench fills up

PCB engineering joins from Aachen, mechanical design joins in Leuven.

  5. May 2026KICK award

Leuven's student-entrepreneurship jury backs the studio concept.

  6. 8 Jun 2026Incutec BV

Incorporated before the notary in Leuven.

  7. Q3 2026OpenDrone launch

Pre-orders open at opendrone.be. The line gets its first full run.

  1. Year 1

    The pilot

One product proves the line end to end: design, certify, manufacture, sell, support. Our own product first, so every mistake is on us.

Gate Moves on when one product has cleared every gate and sells at a margin that pays for the next one.

  2. Year 2

    The catalogue

First external creators signed. A maker brings a working prototype and proven demand. We bring everything between that and a shipping product.

Gate Moves on when release two costs less and takes less time than release one, and the first outside creator has signed.

  3. Year 3 and on

    The label

A back catalogue of open hardware shipping in parallel, each line carrying its creator. Infrastructure built once, reused every release.

Gate The test is simple: what share of revenue comes from hardware incutec did not design.

The people

Engineers.
And curious humans.
